Pulse gas treatment unit UPIG-35-100-600 - Products manufacturer Bunter Group

Pulse gas treatment unit UPIG-35-100-600

Pulse gas treatment unit UPIG-35-100-600 is designed for cleaning the natural gas from impurities and its dehydration to specified parameters before supplying to the consumer.

The gas at the inlet to the UPIG must meet the requirements of STO Gazprom 089-2010 "Combustible natural gas supplied and transported by trunk pipelines. Technical conditions”. The following requirements must be met:

  • the content of mechanical impurities in the gas should not exceed 3.0 mg/m3;

  • the recommended gas temperature at the UPIG inlet should not exceed +40°С.

UPIG-35-100-600 has climatic version category 4 UkhL according to GOST 15150-69 and is designed for operation inside heated rooms.

The premises where the UPIG dehumidification unit is installed must be classified as category A according to NPB 105-03, the temperature inside the premises must be at least 5 °C. The premises where the UPIG control cabinet is installed must be classified as category B3, B4, or G by explosion hazard; the temperature inside the premises must be at least 10 °С.

Main parts of UPIG-35-100-600

  • gas dehydration unit,
  • spare tools and accessories kit.

Operation principle of UPIG

The principle of UPIG operation is based on the phenomenon of water vapor absorption by dehydrated artificial zeolite NaA and its subsequent removal from the adsorbent (regeneration). Structurally, UPIG consists of a gas dehydration unit (hereinafter referred to as BO) with process equipment, pressure gauges, and instrumentation sensors.

Four dehydration filters (adsorbers), assembled in pairs in two blocks, are installed to ensure continuous gas supply. One pair of adsorbers operates in drying mode, the second pair of adsorbers can operated in regeneration or readiness mode

The following operating modes of UPIG are provided:

  • automatic without the presence of an operator,
  • manual.

Gas dehydration

The gas enters the filter through the manual valve and then through the electrically controlled valves to the inlet of one of the two adsorbed units. The inlet gas pressure is monitored by the pressure gauge on the valve. In the adsorbers, the gas passes from top to bottom through a layer of adsorbent, which absorbs water vapor from the gas.

The dehydrated gas from the adsorbers enters the gas filter through the electrically controlled valve, where it is cleaned from the adsorbent dust. The dehydrated and purified gas then flows into the outlet pipe and through the manual valve to the UPIG outlet.

Adsorbent regeneration

When zeolite is saturated with water vapor (dew point temperature at -56°С) it is regenerated in the operating block of the adsorbers.

Regeneration is performed by vacuuming with simultaneous heating of zeolite in adsorbers.

Before regeneration, the gas dehydration mode is switched to the previously regenerated absorber unit and the excess pressure is released from the adsorber unit to be regenerated. Switching is performed automatically at the ACS command in accordance with the preset algorithm. Vacuumization of adsorbers removed from the drying mode is performed by vacuum pump.

The zeolite is heated by an electric heating tape wrapped around the adsorber housing. The adsorber housing is externally insulated.
