Closed flare units UVBG-ZT

Closed flare units UVBG-ZT

These units have no visible flame during gas combustion. Closed flare units can supply continuous, intermittent, and emergency discharges from processing plants. They are used for combustion of hydrocarbon, acidic, and low-calorie discharges.

Combustion occurs in a vertical chamber on the diffusion burners located in the lower part of the device. Smoke gases exit through the upper part of the chamber.

Distinctive features of these flare systems are the absence of thermal radiation, low noise level, and maximum combustion completeness.

Main parts of closed flare unit UVBG-ZT

  • combustion chamber,
  • main burners,
  • pilot burners,
  • stage and auxiliary pipelines,
  • pilot burners ignition control and operation monitoring system,
  • required instrumentation,
  • stop valves.

Compulsory elements of the staging system are safety devices that provide redundancy of shut-off valves in case of an emergency.

The combustion chamber housing is made of carbon steel. The interior is protected by thermal insulation materials to protect against high temperatures.

The dimensions of the combustion chamber are determined according to the parameters of the combustion gas the requirement to provide an optimal ratio of heat release per unit volume. A preliminary estimate of the size of the combustion chamber can be made from the table below based on the heat output of the combustion gas.

Heat emission is determined by the formula:

Q = B * Qн . (where Q is heat emission, MW; B – volumetric gas flow rate per second, nm3/s, Qн – low heat value of the gas MJ/nm3).
